Lac platform moved from lake center to dock 12:01=>13:00 on 17Oct04 (BRH)
  strong winds from WSW
  single person involved, using Boston Whaler with electric motor
  at 12:01 thermistor string placed in cooler filled with lake water (used bucket to top it)
    also included H310 for temperature calibration
  2 tow ropes: one to corner eyebolt on deck to steer; one to center mast for strength
  two ropes on SW and SE linked to floating horizontal buoy (slip knots easily released!)
  final anchor line to be released was on NW (via wingnut eyebolt)
  arrived at west side of dock just before 1pm
  thermistors and H310 left in cooler with lake water past 2pm for full hour comparison
  lake T and cooler T checked with reference thermometer (markings 0.1C, 0-50C range)
  forgot to measure lake level at dock

realtime data from lac datalogger 1:30pm inputs 26->1
set clock to internet time (was about 3min slow)
downloaded storage mod (all data)
During the 2+ hours with sensors in insulated cooler filled with lake water:
--water T started out at 12.7C (lake surface at noon was 13.0C)
--water T at end when sensors went back into lake was 12.0
--water T measured with 0-50 reference thermometer (acc. 0.1C)
--water T when the following readings were taken was between 12.0 and 12.7
