Weather Station Construction:

 Phase 2 completed:  The weather station is fully assembled inside Williams Hall.
 

Photo 1:

On the top right:  Wind speed and direction sensor.

Middle left: Rain gage (gold rim) collects and measures precipitation. 

Center bottom:  The white box contains the data logger and the battery. 

Photo 2:

Center top:  The long rod protruding from the 
weather station is a lightning rod which will be 
attached to a ground wire when on the roof (phase 4)

On the right:  The SR50 ultrasonic depth sensor 
determines the distance from the bottom of the 
sensor to ground or water (corrected  for density of 
air at measured air temperature).  This will be used to 
calculate snow depth.

Middle left:  Temperature and humidity sensor 
(multi-tiered white tower). 

Center bottom:  Solar panel (blue-green panel). 
Used to recharge the battery.
